The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

Today is going to be such a long day. My alarm went off at 6:15...again at 6:20...once more at 6:25...then it gave up on me. I didn't wake up till a few minutes before 7. I still made it to work on time (praise something for living so close!) BUT STILL. Today is probably going to drag...especially since I'm going out for some din din after work, and going to Tiff's tonight at 9:30.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm exhausted because I walked and biked about five miles or so yesterday. BLAH.

Oh, and I need a bike tune up...like tomorrow, if possible. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and I'd like to use my bike in addition to the bus. If not, I can wait till this weekend.

I survived the eljay outage yesterday...barely. :P

Today will be a good day. I found a penny sitting face up right in front of my car when I parked it this morning. That's a great way to start your day.

Took my D to work already this morning, and I'm contemplating taking my bike to werk. I'm wearing my jeans that are a little too big, though, so I'm not sure it's a great idea. They look nice, but they don't lend to physical activity. I need to run them through the dryer again.

That's about all I've got. I had profound things to say yesterday, but they escape me at present moment.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR WAY HOME, [info]styletax!!! Can't wait to feed you Carnitas tacos!

I don't know WTF is wrong with me as of late. I've been taking a nap every day after werk this week instead of riding my bike like I should have been doing. :/ I even talked to Tiff today after werk, and told her that as soon as I was out of traffic on my way home (traffic at 3:30 on a Tuesday--WTF?!) that I would hop on my bike and be right over. THREE HOURS LATER, here I am, just about to hop on my bike.

I did eat a little bit of rice right away after werk, which was good. I had a really bad headache at noon, so I didn't eat lunch. I also *really* needed a bath, since I was sweaty from the 1.5 mile car ride home. I don't know what's up with that.

I'm totally starving now. I might go and have some burrito-y goodness, but I might have some noodle-y goodness instead. I can't really decide what I'm in the mood for. All I know is I can't eat beans and guac at home again. I'll just say that too many avocados in your diet does strange things to a person's digestive system. :P

On that note, I'm off to ride and find something to EAT!!

For those of you who have been reading me for years and years, you may recall one Eric Bruce Haney. I saw him tonight. No other crazy motherfucker in Minneapolis, when it's freezing and windy outside, carries their bike around, wears only a thin winter jacket, and looks like Grizzly Adams. I saw him coming, walking with some crazy lookin' bike chick.

I leaned out of the car and said, "Eric?" To which he replied, "Heh...no." Kind of in that weird "I'm pretending to be someone else, don't fuck it up for me, stupid!" kind of way. The girl laughed, too, so either he really WASN'T Eric, or he gets that a lot, and told her some crazy back story about his long lost evil twin brother named Eric that everyone around MPLS mistakes him for.

I never really felt like I got the kind of closure out of our whirlwind relationship that I wanted. I don't much care now, being married and all. He was really good in bed, had an enormous wang, and LIVED for eating a woman out and then fucking her till she couldn't walk straight. He also contracted genital warts from some skank in Michigan(?) while he was out "finding himself" on a bike tour across the country. In light of this last bit of information, I'm actually rather glad we didn't have the closure that I wanted us to have. Meh.

He also always hated my eljay. I mean HATED it. He thought I was too negative and always angry. For those of you who know me at all, am I that way? I think not. He didn't like the fact that I use my eljay as a means to vent. It gets whatever's on my mind off my mind and out into space where it belongs. I think it's rather therapeutic. He started one, too, but never got into it. I checked up on it just now, and thank the maker it's been abandoned. It's not deleted (dammit), but definitely not used any more. That makes me happy. :)

As to calculate the number of miles I biked today? I left the Mall of America at 24th and Old Shakopee Road. I followed Old Shakopee to Portland. FOllowed Portland to 66th street where I got a snickers bar, a laffy taffy rope and a bottled water. Followed Portland to around 58th, where I turned and went a few blocks till I hit Nicollet. Followed Nicollet to 52nd where there is a HUGE ASS HILL. Walked my bike from 53rd to 51st. Got back on and followed Nicollet to 36th. Took a right on 36th, and then a left on 1st ave. Followed first ave home to 18th and 1st. All of this on about 30 ounces of water and 300 calories. I'm dumb.

Fucking shit, I'm tired and sweaty! Off to to bath...

PS--Don't ever ride down Portland on a Tuesday in the early afternoon. Apparently, it's garbage day. The whole time you are sweating your brains out and breathing in through your mouth and nose at the same time, all you will smell is dirty diapers, rotting food, and general yuckiness. That is all.

Has it always been this scary? I totally witnessed about three drug deals in the two minute long process of unchaining my scooter and putting away the lock so I could go home. Not only did I totally witness said drug deals, I totally told the cops, too. That's what you get for calling a married girl "shorty" repeatedly. Fucker.

SBj

PS--totally biked at least 10 miles today. I'm about to go on a walk. :) I feel like I'm in better shape already!

I'm up! This is amazing! Usually, when I have a day off, I sleep in all effing day. I'm getting up to take my new bike out for a spin, and then off to my spot at Lake Calhoun. :)

After telling work to blow it out their ear in regards to me opening rather than go to the dentist, I headed downtown to my new dentist's office. I *love* the fact that I live about ten blocks away from my dentist. So much better than an hour away! Dr. Dill in Big Lake is totally awesome, and worth the drive, but not at 8 in the morning, and not on the scooter. :P My new lady is really nice and she did a really good job.

They took x-rays of the two areas she thought she saw potential for problems in, and they showed nothing wrong. She tapped, poked, prodded, picked, scraped and "decay machined" my teeth. NO CAVITIES. I couldn't fucking believe it! I seriously feel like I'd be better off if my teeth would just fall out they hurt so bad, but none of them are going to.

Can't.Fucking.Believe.It.

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally stoked about this news! My hour with the dentist and her incredibly friendly staff cost $95, but it's all billed to insuance. Woo!

She thinks the problem is that I grind my teeth at night. Apparently, I've been doing it A LOT as of late, and that's what is causing the pain. It's also causing the metallic taste in my mouth, because I have some really old filling material in there (contains actual silver?) and the grinding of the teeth is causing the grinding down of the fillings. Bits of metal in my mouth = metallic taste. Ew.

I'm actually going to look into braces, too. My molars are all twisted, and the grinding is pretty specific. Because of the twisted nature of the teeth, the points are in the wrong places, causing little points to be ground into the bottom teeth. Not so good. If I can make a good enough case for it, the braces would be even cheaper. I don't know that I would want to go that route right now, tho...braces at 23? That would be weird. It would be amazing to have really straight teeth, though. Hrm...

Work was good tonight. My crew FUCKING ROCKS. We were done right around 11 tonight, so I went to check everyone out. I noticed that there were NO foils for tacos or burritos left for the morning crew. While the night guys finished up, I started making foils for tacos. As they got done with their stuff, the guys (four of them) each grabbed a box (500 foils/box) and pulled them out and put them into pans. We stayed about ten/fifteen minutes making foils. They rock so much!!

Sleepy time now...I get to try out my new Raleigh for the first time tomorrow morning! I'm so stoked. I miss having a bike so SO much. :)
