After telling work to blow it out their ear in regards to me opening rather than go to the dentist, I headed downtown to my new dentist's office. I *love* the fact that I live about ten blocks away from my dentist. So much better than an hour away! Dr. Dill in Big Lake is totally awesome, and worth the drive, but not at 8 in the morning, and not on the scooter. :P My new lady is really nice and she did a really good job.
They took x-rays of the two areas she thought she saw potential for problems in, and they showed nothing wrong. She tapped, poked, prodded, picked, scraped and "decay machined" my teeth. NO CAVITIES. I couldn't fucking believe it! I seriously feel like I'd be better off if my teeth would just fall out they hurt so bad, but none of them are going to.
Can't.Fucking.Believe.It.
Don't get me wrong, I'm totally stoked about this news! My hour with the dentist and her incredibly friendly staff cost $95, but it's all billed to insuance. Woo!
She thinks the problem is that I grind my teeth at night. Apparently, I've been doing it A LOT as of late, and that's what is causing the pain. It's also causing the metallic taste in my mouth, because I have some really old filling material in there (contains actual silver?) and the grinding of the teeth is causing the grinding down of the fillings. Bits of metal in my mouth = metallic taste. Ew.
I'm actually going to look into braces, too. My molars are all twisted, and the grinding is pretty specific. Because of the twisted nature of the teeth, the points are in the wrong places, causing little points to be ground into the bottom teeth. Not so good. If I can make a good enough case for it, the braces would be even cheaper. I don't know that I would want to go that route right now, tho...braces at 23? That would be weird. It would be amazing to have really straight teeth, though. Hrm...
Work was good tonight. My crew FUCKING ROCKS. We were done right around 11 tonight, so I went to check everyone out. I noticed that there were NO foils for tacos or burritos left for the morning crew. While the night guys finished up, I started making foils for tacos. As they got done with their stuff, the guys (four of them) each grabbed a box (500 foils/box) and pulled them out and put them into pans. We stayed about ten/fifteen minutes making foils. They rock so much!!
Sleepy time now...I get to try out my new Raleigh for the first time tomorrow morning! I'm so stoked. I miss having a bike so SO much. :)
